The initial idea for the story came from a news piece I heard a few years ago about a postal worker that collected and read letters to Santa. He (or she, I can't remember) found a letter from a little girl that wanted Santa to stop her father from hurting her. They called Child Protective Services and took the kid out of the home. I wanted my version of Santa to take revenge on the really bad folks on the naughty list, and I thought something a bit reptilian and a bit magical would to the trick! Helen,

Fellow "Being Fit" member and Dresden Files lover here. What a new twist on Santa. I confess I always thought Santa had a white beard. I guess those times I saw him, I just wasn't paying close enough attention. I wonder how this version of Santa every occurred to you? What deep, dark recesses? Good story. Helen Hey, Jason.
